Rockhampton-based ArtsCQ member Elena Churilova is having a fantastic 2021, with an exhibition in Gladstone, adding some new awards to her collection, and leading workshops.

Elena’s solo exhibition Mirages and Illusions  http://gragm.qld.gov.au/exhibitions/mirages-and-illusions  is on show at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum until September 25.

This collection features scenes from around the Gladstone Region, depicted in Elena’s gentle, dreamlike style drenched in vibrant colour.

Also in September Elena is heading south to share her skills through workshops in watercolours (Toowoomba, September 4) https://www.facebook.com/events/5827717003967615, and oils (Crows Nest, September 11 & 12). https://www.facebook.com/events/997447807706722

Ms Churilova was also one of the artists from across Central Queensland recognised through this year’s Central Highlands Regional Council Art Awards – Emerald.  The annual awards attract a phenomenal quality and diversity of work, and if you’re following the local arts scene you’ll recognise a lot of names among the winners!

Elena takes home silver in the Works on Paper category, as well as a highly commended.
